7 Beauty and Cosmetic Brands with Stand Out Packaging from Cosmoprof Miami
The Impacked team rounded out an eventful January with a trip down to Florida for the first ever Cosmoprof Miami Trade Show. We were enthralled by the amazing brands exhibiting from around the world and very impressed by the innovative packaging being used. From plastic free superheroes to food & bev packaging crossovers, we’re spotlighting 7 beauty and cosmetic brands with stand out packaging from Cosmoprof Miami!
Gskin Bio-Based Sugarcane Bottles
Founded in 2022, Gskin is on a mission to create products which take care of your skin while still being planet positive. Gskin’s products are formulated with upcycled food ingredients (that would have otherwise ended up in the trash) that have a ton of amazing skincare benefits. Gskin’s sustainable solutions don’t stop at the formula, as the brand uses bio-based green bottles which are over 50% derived from sugarcane from the fields of Brazil. In addition to bio-based bottles, the brand’s retail cartons are also made from sugarcane bagasse, a thoughtful touch from a brand already using sugarcane in their primary packaging. We’re excited to watch Gskin continue to grow over the coming years!
Attitude Oceanly Plastic Free Makeup Remover
Over the last few years Attitude has been making waves in the beauty and home care industries with clean, high quality products which are consistently packaged in innovative, eco-friendly packaging. Attitude’s Oceanly collection is a range of completely plastic-free makeup products, packaged in FSC certified cardboard push-up tubes. We were really impressed with the thoughtful product design which balances sustainability and efficacy- Attitude uses a thicker cardboard paper to improve formula preservation and usability. This range of plastic-free makeup products joins Attitude’s collection of plastic free sunscreens, beauty bars, and deodorants.
P.S. We love the packaging infographics Attitude Living displayed at the show!
18.21 Man Made Glass Whiskey Bottles
18.21 Man Made caught our eye as a great example of a brand using packaging to both differentiate within a consumer category and intrinsically strengthen brand identity. With a brand namesake referencing the Prohibition Era, 18.21 Man Made uses large glass bullet bottles, replicating the look of a traditional whiskey bottle. These sturdy, heavy, glass bottles buck the trend of lightweight plastics bottles in Personal Care, giving the brand a unique look on the shelf (and online) vs the rest of the category. Reinforce brand heritage and stand out?
We’ll toast to that.
Voesh Aromatherapy Shower Filters
Say goodbye to water impurities and hello to a refreshing shower with the Voesh Shower Filters! A spa and skincare brand based out of New York, Voesh’s shower filter is a screw-on shower filter aimed at removing chlorine, magnesium, and calcium from hard water to help better improve the effectiveness of skin and hair care products. Voesh’s screw on plastic filters also contain skin friendly ingredients like probiotics and vitamin C. Available in 5 different scents, these cruelty-free shower filters are a great example of category innovation in the holistic wellness space.
Timeless Skincare’s Transition Glass Airless Bottles
Whether it's their partnership with Terracycle or high quality recycling infographics used across their website, Timeless Skincare has been a champion of sustainable packaging since inception. At Cosmoprof, we learned about Timeless Skincare’s recent packaging transition on their face serums. Previously packaged in a plastic airless bottle, the product has transitioned to a glass airless bottle to improve recyclability. While the artwork has remained largely unchanged, we think the glass bottle does a great job at providing a premium look and feel. Packaged in California, Timeless Skincare now uses glass packaging across their serums, pure line, and all economy sized bottles.
I Love Cosmetics Good Eggs Bath Bombs
Product Name 🤝 Product Packaging! We are big fans of I love Cosmetics “Good Eggs” bath bombs for their creative packaging pulled from the food industry. Instead of wrapping each individual bath bomb in plastic wrap, I Love Cosmetics uses a half dozen cardboard egg crate to package their colorful bath bombs. The brand randomizes the carton and bath bomb colors, giving a fun surprise factor for ordering online. Sometimes, you just need to think outside the box (or carton), to find some innovative packaging!
Villa Flora Coconut Citrus Hand Soap Bottles
Sometimes, we just need to tip our hat to beautiful packaging and artwork. Rounding out our list of favorites from Cosmoprof Miami is the cult-favorite Villa Flora hand soap range. Villa Flora’s hand soap bottles use thick walled plastic bottles and stunning direct print designs to replicate the look of a premium porcelain bottle at an affordable price. Each Villa Flora collection features its own unique design with strong visual cues linking to each hero ingredient. Available individually or as a variety pack of 4, these hand soaps can add a gorgeous color pop to any household counter.
